"Righteousness exalteth a nation but sin is a reproach to any people"--Proverbs 14:34

The thought keeps running through my mind that a nation of people who show a willingness to honor God by acknowledging him as the creator of all things and the sustainer of life itself and by incorporating into its affairs justice, honesty, mercy and equality between men is a nation that God will show great mercy to even though its people may be a mixture of those who are obedient to his will and those who are not obedient. On the other hand when sin, immorality, wickedness, and lewdness fill the hearts of the people, that nation becomes contemptible in God's sight.

America needs to listen to God in this matter. We have become a nation of people in love with themselves, covetous, boastful, proud, blasphemers, unthankful, unholy, without natural affection, liars, despisers of good, high minded and lovers of pleasure more than lovers of God (2 Tim. 3:2-5). We call evil things good and sometimes call good things evil (Isa. 5:23). One national news service reporting on the marriage of a same sex couple states that the people packed into the room jumped into a standing ovation (Rom. 1:26-27). Those works of the flesh spoken of in Galatians 5:19-21, once so strongly taught against, have now become so commonplace in the lives of the people in America they are no longer viewed in horror by great masses of people. The morality of this nation has been on a slippery slope for quite some time and has now reached a point where adultery. drunkenness, homosexuality, lesbianism and same sex marriage along with a host of evil practices  are not only being accepted but actually glorified (Rom. 1:22-32). Those who are our elected and appointed leaders seem for the most part to be consumed with a thirst for power and wealth whatever the cost may be. Surely there are a few righteous, God fearing souls in our Congress and on our Supreme Court but where  O where are they. Why are their voices not being heard far and wide in an effort to direct this nation down the right pathway? Why are so many of the supposedly God fearing people of America standing idly by watching this great nation wallow in a cesspool of immorality. Why, O Why?  In spite of her abundant blessings from God, America has great sins before him. I pray that God will continue to have mercy on us and at the same time I pray for an awakening among the people of America that will lead us to once again acknowledge him as the creator and sustainer of life and give to him glory and honor (Eph. 5:6-17). God fearing men and women throughout this great nation need to be on their knees pleading with hearts of sincerity for mercy and forgiveness. I never want to be thought of as a person of gloom and doom but the people of America need to wake up before the darkness of wickedness completely envelopes this nation (Eph. 5:3-17).

To God be the glory forever and ever, Amen (2 Pet. 3:18).
