2013 resolutions

2013 is here!

It is new. It is fresh. The calendar is basically clean. The New Year is ready to go. The opportunities are ready, they are boundless, limitless and here. It is your choice as to what will do with them.

Yesterday, on Facebook, I posted Ten Resolution Ideas for 2013. Here they are:

1 – Parents, be THE example for your children of great things! Be there hero, their guide, and most of all their PARENT!
2 – Support what the values you believe! Support morality, family values, religious values and the principles you love.
3 – Be the spouse you NEED to be. Support, serve and appreciate the gift of marriage you have been given.
4 – Plan your day stop letting your day plan you life. Take control and make time for what matters.
5 – Read books and stop watching TV. Use your imagination, creativity, thoughts and then paint the picture.
6 – Play a board game with your family. Turn of the electronics and spend time with each other. Work together.
7 – Be around people who make a difference, not people who whine.
8 – Stop talking about doing something and go do something. Volunteer, create a movement, encourage others.
    9 – Stop whining.
10 – Write a note of encouragement to some one each week. It only takes five minutes, but the results last much longer.

Here is one from my Personal Resolutions for 2013:

#105 – Annoy and challenge people so they do better each day.

Several years ago, my wife and I stopped making New Year's Resolutions and focused on setting goals which will make our lives stronger in our faith, our character and leaders in our family. Setting goals, writing them down and reviewing them throughout the year allows you to be better each day because you see the results happening.

What goals have you set for 2013?

Tomorrow – What is up for the Preacher's Pen in 2013?

Just some thoughts,
