The Bible is Remarkable: Its Chief Character is Remarkable

The Bible is Remarkable: Its Chief Character is Remarkable

There have been many religious figures throughout history, but none of them has the qualifications that Jesus has:

·         Jesus existed eternally as a spirit being, the Son of His Father God.
·         As the spirit being, God, he created the universe and the world – appointing all nations and all boundaries.
·         Then, though God, he became a man at just the right time in history – joining the human race down here on earth.
·         He lived a perfectly sinless life, though tempted in every way as all of us are.
·         He taught us everything we need to know about living a good life here, and then living forever in heaven.
The big picture of eternity was always his focus. Since his goings forth were from eternity, Micah 5:2, he knew a bit about it!
·         He performed various miracles that proved God’s power, as well as the claims he made. He claimed to be the resurrection and the life, and raised dead people, including himself, to prove it!
·         He made many predictions, including his own death and resurrection, and they all came true.
·         Having died and rose again, precisely as he had predicted, he then ascended back to heaven to rule everyone including his church.
·         When he sat down on the throne of heaven, he sent God the holy Spirit to begin and empower the church. God sent Jesus. Jesus sent the Holy Spirit. Jesus is always with his people in the church via the Holy Spirit. You can’t see him, but he’s here! In heaven, Jesus ever lives to rule all, intercede for our sins, and to protect his saints.
·         One day he will return, meet his followers in the air, take them back to heaven, have them face his judgment with all who have ever lived, give them a new spiritual body, and live with them in the glory of God and the company of angels. Those who never believed will be destroyed in hell.
·         Why wouldn’t you trust him with your life for eternity?
·         The Old Testament, that God gave to Israel, predicts what would happen. The history of Israel pre-Christ is God’s history to prepare the world for Jesus. The New Testament that God prepared for the world, shows how those predictions were fulfilled. It’s easy to prove that none of this was faked.
·         The record is all there in the Bible, which gives us all the proof, but also shows us how to live – now and forever! The Bible is not simply theory and theology: it’s also sound, practical advice to get the best out of life.
·         God has preserved this incomparable volume so you can always find out the facts and be prepared for eternity.
·         God invites you to examine it. He doesn’t force you; he wants you to decide for yourself.
·         But will you?
·         Without the will there is no eternal reward.

For you know how, like a father with his children, we exhorted each one of you and encouraged you and charged you to walk in a manner worthy of God, who calls you into his own kingdom and glory. And we also thank God constantly for this, that when you received the word of God, which you heard from us, you accepted it not as the word of men but as what it really is, the word of God, which is at work in you believers. 1 Thessalonians 2:11-13.

The Bible works always … if you believe.

Jesus saves forever … if you obey.

God’s kingdom and glory are always waiting. God is calling you there through the gospel of Christ.

Are you listening?

Are you willing?

Will you repent, believe and commit?

Nothing, nothing is more important than this.

But you don’t know when you will run out of time and opportunity.

Working together with him, then, we appeal to you not to receive the grace of God in vain. For he says,
“In a favourable time I listened to you, and in a day of salvation I have helped you.”
Behold, now is the favourable time; behold, now is the day of salvation. 2 Corinthians 6:1-2
